About Us
Serb's World of Whitetails is a fair chase whitetail, Spring turkey, and bowfishing outfitter, located in the trophy game rich area of south central Wisconsin. We limit the pursuit of whitetails to the use of bows only, while spring turkey hunting can be done with the use of a shotgun, or bow. Bowfishing is done with bow and arrow from a boat.
All bowhunting of whitetails is done from BIG GAME 20' ladderstands, and LONE WOLF hang on stands. Primos VISION ground blinds are used for some clients when the need for such a set-up is required. No spot and stalk hunting is allow, and gun hunting is never allowed on these highly managed parcels.
During early season hunts, you will be waking to a hearty breakfast, and be taken to your stand site for the morning hunt before daylight, and be picked up at 10am. You'll then be brought back to the lodge for some rest and lunch, and be taken to your evening hunt at around 2pm for the evening sit, and picked up at the end of legal shooting hours. Arrangements can be made for all day sits prior to the rut all day sits dates.
During the rut, all deer hunts are designed to be all-day sits on stand, so a lunch is available for you to take with you for the duration of the day. The drop off and the pick-up times remain the same.
All hunters MUST have a cell phone at their disposal during their time on stand. If game is taken, no hunter shall pursuit any game before a staff member from Serb's, gets to the location. All game tracking is done solely with a staff member on site. Upon a hit on an animal, the given hunter calls the lodge to notify the staff of the hit, and the staff member will meet you at the stand location, or at times, in the area you were dropped off on the given property. DON'T go looking for your arrow...leave it lay where you shot it. Much information is gained from the arrow, and the hunters discription of the events of the shot/hit. You will then accompany the staff member during the tracking of the game to your trophy.
You as the hunter, you're expected to assist our staff in the retrieval of all downed game. We use ATV'S to get the game to the trucks in most cases, but at times, and because some area's won't tolerate the added pressure of the noise the ATV makes. We do drag deer out of the woods at times by hand. You the hunter are asked to help if your able bodied to do so, and we need to know beforehand, if your physical condition prevents you from a strenous activity like dragging game out of the woods. We could accomodate those folks by sending two staff members for the retrieve.
Field dressing of game can be done by our staff as a convienience to the the client, although we are well aware of the fact that some hunters like to do that themselves, we hold no grudges.
We at Serb's do not process game for our clients, but what we can do, is direct you to the nearest butcher shop in the area, for those needs for you. You use your own vehicle to take the game to the butcher shop, and we give you a printed directions to their location. They're about 30 miles from our lodge, and the cost of processing a deer is around $80.
You cannot do any processing on your own at the lodge. We are simply not set-up for that process.
Serb's World of Whitetails is geared strickly toward the harvest of only mature animals, we only harvest deer over the 130" measuring standard used by the Pope and Young Asso. The scoring we use to measure deer is based on gross score, not net. Because of work and patients level needed to grow and manage whitetails, there is a $500 security deposit taken up-front on the day you arrive. As long as a given hunter doesn't shoot an animal that goes below the 130" P&Y standard, you get your money returned to you prior to your departure home. If you shoot no animal on your trip, you get your $500 security deposit back as well. Wisconsin is a one deer state for whitetails with a bow in most area's of the state. So choose wisely before taking a shot. Be sure you're fairly efficient at judging the size of a whitetails antlers. We don't want you to have these antler issues occur.
