The way we at Serb’s World of Whitetails run our operation here can be described in a few simple words, Organized, Fulfilling, Exciting, Fair and most of all FUN! But to be able to provide this type of atmosphere, there has to be certain understandings in place between us and you the paying client. The descriptions below are what you the client can expect from us, and also what you can expect to give in return. Please read the rules over very carefully and if you have any more questions, please feel free to discuss them with us via your phone call or e-mail to us.
No alcohol is provided by us, you are allowed to bring your own alcoholic beverages, or have us pick up for you a certain type, but you will be responsible for the price of the alcohol upon its purchase. Now along with saying this, you MUST drink responsibly because no misconduct will be tolerated because of a few too many drinks.
You will be only warned one time for behavior contradictory to our operations purpose, or for abuse of any kind either to the staff, or to the other clients of ours.
A bad attitude can bring an entire camp down, and nothing good ever comes from that. Don’t for one second think you can bring a bad attitude to Serb’s, and think you’ll get a free pass for it. Hunting is a great adventure with great rewards always around the next turn. You need to keep an upbeat attitude for your own good, and for the good of the other people around you. You’ll know you’re becoming the camp whiner and other clients are complaining to our staff when all the sudden instead of the camouflage sheets that were on your bed the night before...all the sudden turned into PINK CAMOUFLAGE a day later. That’s a subtle warning to get the attitude in check.
Keep the bad language to a minimum. We all like to let it hang out sometimes, and sometimes fun and emotions can get a little carried away. Do your part to feel out the other people in camp with you before throwing out language that may offend people too badly. Just for everyone’s information...I can make a sailor blush with the best of them, so even I and my staff follow this rule religiously.
Smoking is allowed in ONLY the poker room or outside the lodge, if that still doesn’t fit your agenda, we may have certain weeks available to those that only want to hunt with all non-smokers. We’ll do what we can to accommodate the request.
Stand choices are by lottery, and on a daily basis per hunt. If you choose to sit all day...the stand is yours for the day. There will NEVER be any favoritism played out at Serb’s, and on that, you have my promise. Only stands that work for certain wind conditions will be put into play for each hunt. We let our hunting clints make a few choices upon how they as a group want to work with a return policy to a given stand location. More of this will be discussed during the orientation.
If you miss the departure time for your guide to take you hunting, you will not be able to hunt that specific timeframe. We don’t have the ability to run a shuttle service on your schedule, you have to work with ours.
Keeping a stand for the next day while hunting the prior day...and seeing deer, is voted upon by the given group of 6 hunters during your stay. The hunters decide how they want to do this...we will accommodate the hunters wishes. It’s decided upon via an open vote.
To book a hunt with Serb’s World of Whitetails, you need to download the CLIENT INFORMATION SHEET and the CONTRACT AND LIABILTY WAIVER SHEET which are located here on the site in the documents section, and fax or mail it back to our office. The about us section has all the phone number or address you will need. Along with the information sheet you’ll be sending in, we also require a 50% deposit for the hunt. You can send a personal check, money order, or cashiers check for that initial payment. We also accept Paypal for payment. The second portion of your hunt is to be paid upon arrival to the lodge. That payment HAS TO BE IN THE FORM OF CASH ONLY!!! We will NOT accept any other form of payment, so please be prepared to pay your hunt in full, and in cash.
The cancellation policy is a very simple one. If you book a hunt with us, you cannot cancel the hunt. You can however delay the hunt till the following season IF you give us 30 days minimum notice.
We hunt only bucks that meet a 130” score using the P&Y and/or B&C standards for GROSS score. You will score the deer yourself with a member of our staff. There is a $500.00 security deposit due in cash upon arrival for that very purpose. You will be refunded the monies when leaving and shooting the correct deer, or not shooting at all. This deposit CANNOT be used for the “BUY BACK IN PROGRAM”. All doe hunting is done on a "need to" basis, we don't hunt does unless a property has been deemed to hold too many. When the doe population needs to be lowered on a given parcel, doe hunting is done at no extra charge to the client.
The “BUY BACK IN PROGRAM” is our way of saying ...YOU goofed up bad, shot a deer poorly, and we’re still letting you continue to hunt. But there a catch, because of the extreme work and costs associated with raising mature deer, there is a $500.00 extra buck fee attached to the program. If you wound a deer and that deer is not recovered by our staff with your help of course, you now have the ability to “BUY BACK IN” and keep hunting instead of being finished with us. We consider arrows missing from your quiver as shots taken, just like we consider blood on the ground as shots taken. So please be accurate, and make good decisions before releasing an arrow. The BUY BACK IN PROGRAM is also a cash only payment method, and is collected before we allow you into the woods and fields again on your hunt.
You are required to be in camp by 3pm on the Sunday to begin your hunt. Your checkout time the following Saturday is anything before 12pm (noon). We can make arrangements to pick you up or drop you off at the Madison WI airport if you’re flying in/out. Clients coming in after Sunday need to call our office to discuss their needs and schedules, and we can then offer alternative possibilities.
There is an orientation scheduled the evening of your arrival day (Sunday) following your locker assignment and range work. We sight in all bows after arrival with the use of BROADHEADS into a special sand bank bunker. We need to make sure the bow is shooting correctly, and at the same time, we also need to see what capabilities you have with a bow for stand placement possibilities.
For any reason the staff at Serb’s believes that rules are not being followed, that can mean an immediate termination without reimbursement of your hunt. Please be aware that we never want to enforce such things on anyone here visiting us, but in the same token, always understand that there are other folks here with us also trying to enjoy their time here too, so please bring your best behavior.
