Telling it like it really is . . .
Unlike the vast majority of Whitetail outfitters out there, I'm going to be as honest and as forthcoming as I can possibly be. Bowhunting whitetails as we do here at Serb's World of Whitetails is ALL DONE ON A FAIR CHASE BASIS!!! Let me be as clear and precise as humanly possible, deer are the real experts in the hunting woods, and we the bowhunter are fortunate even with everything that can be done to skew the odds in our favor...to harvest them with a bow. Don't let the hoopla over the success pictures be your guide to hunting with any given outfitter, the truth is simply this, the deer can come and go as they please, and even with all the knowledge any outfitter posses, the deer simply are not tied to trees...and we here at Serb's, don't want them to be. We enjoy the challenge and the battle of wits that we bowhunters partake in versus the wily whitetail. If you're the hunter with that same mindset of you against the mighty whitetail, and that taking one of these great creatures is a trophy of a lifetime...we'd love to have you aboard.
Even while agreeing in part with the old adage of "PREPARATION + OPPORTUNITY = SUCCESS", don't let that fool you. You can be the best hunter in the country, you can be the best archer on the planet for that matter. The simple fact of hunting whitetails with a bow, even on highly managed lands, IS NOT a sure thing, not by a long shot. Whitetail deer simply, are much better at not being taken, then we as bowhunters are at harvesting them. Now with that said, there are certainly things that can, and do get done to skew the odds better then throwing a dart at a topo map and hoping that things work out for the best. We work hard to make the lands we hunt productive for bowhunting, specifically bowhunting mature bucks, and that's a huge undertaking. We start out by making sure first and foremost, the deer want to be on those lands, we then balance the herds age structure with well thought out biological standards for a continuous resource for the parcel. We supply a good food source for that herd on that given parcel, and make sure the ratio of does to bucks is as close to 2-1 as we can make them. All of that done to improve the chances for our client’s success for mature animals, and it also makes for a healthy herd and age structure for many years to come.
The lands you'll be hunting here at Serb’s are parcels that hold sizable herds in the area. 60 deer per sq. mile is the norm in the area, we have more then that on our parcels. We then implement a strict 130" minimum for all deer taken off any given parcel, there is a $500 security deposit that's mandatory for all hunters before you begin your hunting here at Serb's. Any hunter that doesn't meet the 130" gross minimum score on any deer taken forfeits the security deposit. Since Wisconsin is a one buck archery per hunter state (excluding CWD area's), your deer hunting time at Serb's is over. We do have other things to do, but hunting deer with your bow has concluded.
Having said all that, at the expense of modesty, my staff has 1000's of hours a year, and 100 years of combined experience in hunting deer with a bow. I'm also personally involved with many things deer hunting in the state of Wisconsin with my position of on-line Marketing Manager for the Wisconsin Bowhunters Association (the largest state run bowhunting org). To be straightforward, we know deer, we know what they like to do, and we know how to get you into a position to succeed. I've been chasing the whitetail for 26 years and with 400-500 of hours yearly spent in the woods hunting, and another 500 hours a year working on lands, you won't be disappointed in the efforts, opportunities, or the knowledge of the staff.
